About the role
Juru is looking for an experienced System Administrator to maintain reliable, secure IT services across its offices and projects. The role is based in our Tashkent office and owns IT systems and network infrastructure administration, cybersecurity and user support, ensuring that staff have dependable access to the systems they need.
Job Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure and Service Reliability:
- Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and virtualisation platforms such as Hyper-V or VMware; support Linux systems where required.
- Manage gateways, switches, wireless networks, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs and inter-office connectivity; maintain video surveillance and its retention settings.
- Plan server migrations, upgrades and infrastructure projects, with documented risks, tested rollback plans and post-implementation reviews.
- Operate backups, offsite copies and recovery procedures; conduct and document restore tests.
- Administer Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools for patching, software deployment, monitoring, alerting and remote support; maintain engineering software (CAD/BIM/CDE) licence servers, associated file servers and automation servers.
- Monitor availability and performance, resolve incidents to root cause and maintain practical continuity and recovery documentation.
- Platform Administration and Access Management:
- Administer Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, including users, groups, shared drives, Teams, security settings, sharing and retention policies, and interoperability.
- Own joiner, mover and leaver processes: account provisioning, licensing, access changes and timely access revocation.
- Implement approved file structures, permissions and data classification controls across corporate storage.
- Provide technical administration for Asana, corporate chat, document/PDF tools and approved AI platforms; manage accounts, authentication and access controls.
- Automate routine administration using PowerShell, Python, Bash or Apps Script; document scripts and configurations for handover.
- Cybersecurity:
- Administer endpoint protection and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR); triage security alerts, investigate incidents and remediate affected devices.
- Manage vulnerability and patch exposure, prioritise remediation by risk and report unresolved issues to management.
- Run phishing simulations under management authorisation and deliver security awareness and secure-access guidance.
- Review internal applications and hosted services for authentication, secrets management and access control before deployment; track remediation.
- Licensing Assets and Vendors:
- Maintain the IT asset register from procurement and naming through maintenance and secure disposal; specify hardware to business-unit needs.
- Own the licence and subscription register across infrastructure, collaboration, business applications, engineering software and AI tools; track entitlements, usage and renewal dates.
- Reclaim unused seats, right-size subscription tiers and avoid duplicate spend, consulting application owners on business needs.
- Manage ISPs, resellers, IT vendors and implementation partners, including scope, commercial comparisons, service quality and formal acceptance of audits and deliverables.
- Support Documentation and Coordination:
- Provide L2/L3 support across offices and time zones; guide and quality-review junior IT staff and interns.
- Manage incidents, requests, problems and changes in line with ITIL principles; maintain clear escalation and resolution records.
- Maintain configuration records, operating procedures and the IT knowledge base so another administrator can run the environment.
- Deliver IT induction covering devices, accounts and secure working; provide technical guidance for platform changes.
- Liaise with the Data, AI and Productivity Specialist on application rollouts, integrations and migrations: own infrastructure, identity, security review and production hosting; agree technical readiness before release.
- Maintain retention and archival arrangements for decommissioned systems; report service performance, security posture, project progress, risks and spend to management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant systems administration or IT operations experience, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows, Linux, networking, cloud services, cybersecurity, backup/recovery and virtualisation.
- Hands-on experience administering cloud frameworks (Google Workspace and Microsoft 365), including identity, permissions, security and retention settings.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell, Python or Bash for administration; familiarity with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, coordination and project delivery skills; able to prioritise competing demands under pressure.
- Good written and spoken English. Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL or security certifications are an advantage.
