The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is considering financing OJSC Chakan GES for the development of a 20 MW solar power plant on 45 hectares of land near the Alamedin hydropower cascade. The Project will also include new or upgraded transmission infrastructure to connect the facility to the national grid. A Feasibility Assessment is being launched to review technical, environmental, and social aspects in line with international best practices and Kyrgyz Republic regulations. The Project is currently classified as Category “B” under the EBRD Environmental and Social Policy, with final confirmation to follow site visits and stakeholder engagement. Juru is engaged to confirm the project categorization and conduct an E&S assessment in accordance with the EBRD Performance Requirements and other applicable standards.
