The Government of Uzbekistan has signed an agreement with the EBRD to partner on the development of large-scale wind power projects up to a total capacity of 2,000 MW in Uzbekistan. Within this agreement, ACWA Power initiated development of a 200MW WPP Project coupled with BESS in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan. Acwa power awarded Juru as a technical advisor to conduct OHTL route surveys for 220 kV overhead transmission line between Beruni 220 kV substation and Nukus 2 WPP.

Services provided

  • Identify 3 feasible corridors for each line route based on a preliminary desktop study including analysis of existing documents, IBAT reports and GIS surveys
  • Propose selection of the final route fulfilling the E&S and technical cost-effectiveness criteria
  • Estimate tower quantities for the proposed option, OHL route length with conductor, OPGW and shield wire lengths 
  • Provide Pre-feasibility Study Report
  • Develop preliminary Design & Scoping of Beruni 220 kV substation extension including analysis and finalisation of SLD options, electrical layout, protection & control SLD, telecom arrangement, and preliminary specifications for secondary equipment
