Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar

Masdar and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed an agreement for assessment, development and implementation of a 4 GWac pipeline of solar PV and onshore wind projects in the Republic of Azerbaijan.  Within the framework of this agreement, Masdar initiated the development of the first phase covering 445 MW and 390 MW SPV plants in Bilasuvar and Neftchala regions respectively. Juru was selected as a technical advisor to support the development stage of the project. 

Services provided

Solar measurement campaigns

  • Conduct solar measurement campaign and data collection for 12 months by installing 2 automatic weather stations including a 3m height- tower with wind sensors and a PV module
  • Deliver monthly reports in accordance with IEC 61724-1:2017 standard that covers bankable measurement data with 99.5% accuracy and data analysis of global & reflected horizontal irradiance, ambient temperature and relative humidity.

Geotechnical Investigations

  • Carry out geotechnical investigations with a total of 77 boreholes (4-10m), and conducting ERT, TRT, CBR and PLT tests.
  • Submit a Geotechnical Report with recommendations for designing PV areas and substations.  

Topographical Survey

  • Perform a detailed topographical survey within a combined 2434-hectare area including access roads and transmission lines using Unmanned Aerial drones adhering to specified grid mesh requirements.

Hydrological Study

  • Develop a hydrology study report, encompassing flood risk assessment, drainage design recommendations, and mitigation strategies based on detailed analysis of site-specific conditions and historical flood data including flood level of 100-year (1% AEP), 50-year (2% AEP), 25-year (4% AEP) and 10-year (10%AEP).
