ACWA Power

ACWA Power signed an implementation agreement with the Ministry of Energy (MoE) in Azerbaijan for developing, building and operating a 240 MW wind power project. The wind project is expected to operate for 25 years on a BOO basis according to the PPA. Current Project is going to be financed by EBRD, ADB, POEC. The 240 MW wind project will be split and built on two (2) locations as follows: 

  • Khizi 3: Capacity up to 162.5 MW and will be generated using 25 x 6.5 MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), located in Khizi region; and 
  • Area 1: Capacity up to 78 MW and will be generated using 12 x 6.5 MW WTGs, located at Absheron region.

Services provided

Livelihood Restoration Plan for Khizi 3 Wind Farm

  • Conduct consultation on land use with PAPs (5 herb collectors, 4 farmers and herders) as well as with Khizi Executive Power and Sitalchay municipality
  • Conducting socio-economic survey of identified PAPs households 
  • Preparation of vulnerability matrix and identification of additional support they need
  • Information disclosure, consultations and participation
  • Calculation of compensation for land loss and loss of wage for PAPs

Livelihood Restoration Plan for Area 1 Wind Farm

  • Conduct consultation on land use with PAPs (40 households from Pirekeshkul village) as well as with Pirekeshkul municipality
  • Conducting socio-economic survey of identified 40 PAPs households 
  • Preparation of vulnerability matrix and identification of additional support they need
