ACWA Power is conducting development studies to facilitate the establishment of a 200MW capacity wind farm project in Karakalpakstan. To integrate the WPP into the grid, the 44 km Overhead Transmission Line will be constructed as well. Juru was engaged to conduct baseline surveys, stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the development of both national EIA studies and international ESIA and LALRP studies to ensure the project's bankability and compliance with regulatory standards.

Services provided

  • Conduct an E&S Scoping study including desktop data collection and field observations in order to preliminary identify impacts and confirm the ToR for ESIA stage
  • Prepare National EIA report to obtain local environmental permit from authorities
  • Carry out environmental baseline surveys including soil and water analysis, traffic, landscape, air and noise monitoring
  • Carry out socio-economic baseline surveys including census survey, KIIs, FGDs
  • Perform biodiversity surveys including habitat/botanical, mammal transect and phototrapping, herpetological, spring VP bird monitoring, breeding bird survey, Houbara Bustard survey, bat passive acoustic survey to inform CHA and ESIA
  • Carry out stakeholder engagement and public disclosure of ESIA
  • Identify land use and Project affected people (PAPs) and carry out valuation to inform the LALRP
