Nebras Power Investment Management B.V. ("Nebras") and Sojitz Corporation ("Sojitz")

Nebras Power Investment Management B.V. ("Nebras") and Sojitz Corporation ("Sojitz") are jointly developing a wind project with a capacity of 1 GW windfarm in Tamdy district, 75km away from Zarafshan. Additionally, the project involves developing a 500kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) spanning approximately 234 km, which will connect a collector substation to an existing substation that connects to the national grid. The Project is to be situated in the Navoi region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Juru is invited to support WSP locally to to carry out an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the project.

Services provided

  • Conduct a scoping site visit
  • Develop the National EIA Report
  • Collect and analyse environmental baseline data, including air quality and soil quality (6 samples)
  • Carry out stakeholder engagement and ESIA-phase surveys, including GRM support, social baseline studies (FGD, KII), land-use assessment, and identification of existing infrastructure and utilities, as well as ESIA public disclosure
  • Provide inputs to the Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restoration Framework (LALRF)
  • Conduct terrestrial biodiversity baseline studies, including habitat and botanical surveys (Autumn 2025 and Spring 2026), mammal transect survey (Autumn 2025), mammal phototrapping survey (7 months), herpetological survey (Summer 2025 and Spring 2026), and provide inputs to the Critical Habitat Assessment (CHA)
  • Carry out the annual bird and bat survey, including 25 vantage point surveys for WF, Asian Houbara survey, breeding raptor survey, passive acoustics for WF, active transect surveys for WF, and roost searches for WF
  • Provide inputs to the ESIA
